The future can often seem so far away yet so scary. We lay awake in bed thinking about what our lives will be like in years to come. Chase after your dreams while you still can or else you will later regret it. Be confident that your future will be everything you ever hoped for and is a life that you have longed for. You have the chance to chase after your dreams,, so why not try?

Count Your Blessings

Shirt: Bohemia (a boutique in LA),Leggings:Target,Skirt: Forever 21
Leather Jacket: Goodwill,Moccasins: TJ Maxx
Earrings: Forever 21

I went to a very wealthy person’s house last night  and I automatically compared myself to them. I thought  “Why can’t I have parties like this?” But it is very important to count your blessings. Take into account all the things that you do already have and be glad that you have it. This will teach you to appreciate all the good things in life; which can taken for granted.

The new texting acronym that came out is yolo; meaning you only live once. I have never used this phrase, but the more I think about it, the more it resonates with me. You only live once so why not do everything you want to do? Fly to Paris if you never been there, wear orange if you have never done that, chase the dreams that you have been fantasizing about as long as you can remember. It’s okay to be daring, because after all we only have one life to live, so why not make the most of it while we still can? As Seventeen Magazine says “What if you squashed that annoying voice in your head and, instead, just went for it? What if you pushed aside the ‘What if I fail?’ mentality and told yourself that even if you don’t nail something the first time you try it…or even at all…at least you’ve got the guts to know you tried. Whether you’re going for that huge dream that you always had or taking baby steps out of your comfort zone, use this summer to live your life at its fullest. The big secret is that it only takes a second to decide that you don’t care what other people think, that you’re stronger than  a little rejection, that you’ll vow to succeed at all costs” (149). (June 2012 issue)
So why not go for it?

This Selena Gomez video shows us the Yolo attitude, so I thought it would be a nice treat!

Making It Through The Rain

When you get your heart broken, you feel like you want have a time-out from the world or if you were a turtle, you would want to hide in your shell for a little while. I know that right now you feel so fragile like a glass doll; one blow and you shatter. But it is very important to make that first step to go out into the world. You may not realize that you have people around you that care for you and that love you. These people will want to help you in any way they can, if they truly love you. You also need to know that it is okay to open up to people and be vulnerable with them because that is what friends are for. You may feel like what you are sharing is repetitive, but that’s okay. You need to vent it out and your friends will need to understand that. It is going to take time to heal, but I know you can. If your ex wants to be friends after you guys break up, you can do that, but only when you are feeling ready. As for getting back together, really think about whether or not you would be living in the past and whether or not it’s worth it.  It’s okay to wallow, feel angry, or analyze. In fact, you will probably go through all those emotions and that is totally normal. Don’t forget that you have people that love you though and you can share this with them. They will listen, I promise. I made a poem which is actually a combination of songs that explains that it is okay and it will heal in time:
You don’t deserve my tears,
I guess that’s why they ain’t there,
It’s alright, it’s okay
It’s going to hurt when it heals too.
It’ll all get better in time.
I’m going to smile because I deserve to.
Since there is no more you and me, I going to let you go so I can be free.
Also, Mariah Carey’s song gives you a good picture of how to make it through the rain when you are distraught.
I put the lyrics video up because I really want the lyrics to sink in. This song is by Leona Lewis that explains that it will heal with time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSxyffSB7wA&ob=av2n
